Kentucky Governor Anti Gambling Measures

Friday, February 6th, 2009

The governor of Kentucky must be getting extremely bored. Instead of fighting real crimes such as murder, rape, and robbery he is now spending his time attempting to prevent citizens from accessing certain websites. Governor Steve Beshear has pushed through a court order to have 141 different Internet domains seized from online gaming operators. I guess someone forgot to explain to him that these domains are not owned by US companies, so his little court order is merely a waste of time. He claims these companies to be “leeches on the community” and has repeatedly used moral grounds in his attempts to strong arm these companies. We didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday Steve, the real and only issue for you is protecting your own gambling interests.

JJProdigy Story Continues

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Many in the poker community will recognize the name JJProdigy. Ha was caught playing multiple accounts in the same tourneys on PokerStars, and was subsequently banned for doing so. Apparently the guy just couldn’t give it up, and he has been caught again for playing on the site. This story runs even deeper as PokerStars has set a new precedent by banning some of his friends for helping him gain access to PokerStars accounts and funds. Some of the other people that were banned were “sooners” “a perfect gent”, and “hitur2outer”. These players were banned for either helping him get accounts to play or for transferring funds to him. JJProdigy avoided detection for awhile by setting the accounts up on new computers and by using a different IP address. He was eventually caught as a pattern was recognized in a series of cash transfers between players. JJProdigy has issued yet another apology to the poker community, but does he mean it? Will he actually stop attempting to play on PokerStars now?
